His Biography:

Sleiman Frangieh was born in Ehden on the 15th of June 1910, son of Kabalan Frangieh, an important political man. He studied in several schools to finally graduate from Antoura College.
Frangieh became a member of the lebanese parliament in 1960 after the retirement of his brother Hamid from political life in 1957.
In 1969, Sleiman campaigned for the Presidency. He opposed the presence of all armed militias in Lebanon, and proposed a new Lebanese National Government with the motto "My Country is always right".
On the 17th of August 1970 Sleiman Frangieh was elected president of the republic. He received a lot of support from most of the lebanese people who were waiting for a strong man like him . He fought for a Lebanon for all Lebanese and fought against partitioning of Lebanon.
The first four years in Office saw the abolition of corruption in Government Departments.Great improvements were made in the areas of health and education.The Lebanese economy showed a marked improvement, especially in the areas of finance and tourism. Lebanon became the financial capital of the Middle East, and enjoyed great prosperity.
Sleiman Frangieh felt the danger which the plestinians were causing to Lebanon ( they interfered in Lebanon's internal affairs, they were trying to liberate palestine from Lebanon which caused Israel to re-attack South-Lebanon ). In 1973, he ordered the Lebanese army to move against palestinians.
On 13/4/1975, fighting broke out between Lebanese and Palestinians in the area of Ain-el-Remaneh, Beirut. President Frangieh felt that the independence of Lebanon is going to be destroyed, so he resisted to keep Lebanon sovereign. He joined the "Lebanese Front" ( Kamil Shamoun) the representor of the right parties, fighting against Lebanese ennemies. Frangieh's party was Marada which was created with the help of the different political sides in Zgharta.
On the 3rd of May 1978, Frangieh left the Lebanese Front because some of his members were allied with Israel for personnal profit. Since then, problems began to grow between the Marada & the kataeb, which ended with a perfidious attack on Ehden on the 13th of June 1978 & caused to death of Marada's Leader Tony Frangieh, his wife Vera, his three-year-old daughter Jihane & 28 others.
On the 22nd of July 1992, Sleiman Frangieh died, the Lebanese people always remembered & will never forget his great achievements.
